Some Frequently Asked Questions

  • Due to our small class size we ask that all clients book in for class. This can be done via the website or by downloading the Glofox app from the App store & searching for 'Form Pilates Studio LTD'. Still having trouble? Contact us directly at info@formpilates.co.nz

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your first class to have a tour of the studio and familiarize yourself with your instructor and equipment. If you arrive late to your first class, you will be asked to reschedule for safety reasons. Our studio is intended to feel low-key and welcoming, so wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in. For hygiene & safety reasons, grip socks are mandatory for reformer classes. These are available to purchase in studio.

  • All new movers to Form are asked to attend a New Movers Consult first. This helps us to assess where you’re at, fast track your results, give you confidence on the reformer, and help you have the best experience possible.

  • Up to six people are able to attend a class at one time. Our studio is small and boutique and we love it this way. The intimate class sizes mean we can always offer you help and support throughout your workout.

  • At Form, instructors are registered senior physiotherapists. We provide semi-private Pilates reformer classes. Capped at 6 so that every client is support, guided an encouraged with very movement. If you want to learn to move well, feel more connected to your body, address underlying aches and pains. Form is for you.

  • Exercise is such a personal thing so this question depends on your lifestyle, your goals, what other exercise you do and how your body adapts to the workouts. However, consistency is key and between 2-3 classes per week is wonderful. 3+ classes p/w will yield great results, which is why we created our weekly membership options.

  • We know that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable, however our classes are small & often have a waitlist. This is why our cancellation policy exists which all clients must adhere to. Early Cancel - If you cancel at least 14 hrs prior to class start time, your pass will be returned to your account to use for a future date.

‍Late Cancel - If you cancel less than 14 hrs prior to class start time, your class credit will be deducted from your account. ‍

No Show - If you do not show up & do not cancel, your pass will be deducted form your account. Please, if you think you wont make it to class, cancel as early as possible, as this allow others, who may be on the on the waitlist, a chance to fill your spot. Please note if you late cancel or do not attend a booked class on an intro offer pass, your pass will be removed and remaining credits lost.

‍Please note - if you are booked into the morning classes, we ask that you kindly cancel before 8pm the night before to allow waitlisted clients a chance to join.

Private Sessions: Cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours prior to avoid a full charge.

  • If a class is full, you have the option to add yourself to the waitlist. If someone cancels the class, a space on the waitlist will become a available. All clients on the waitlist will be notified, the first to book secures the spot.

‍IMPORTANT - Treat your waitlist like a booking Please monitor your waitlists like you would your bookings. We understand things change so if you know that you can no longer attend the class, it is your responsibility to remove yourself from the waitlist to avoid being added and losing a pass (late cancellation and no-show policy applies).

‍Beware - Early morning waitlists! If you are on the waitlist for an early morning class, please set your alarm so that you have enough time to attend incase you have been added to the class overnight. If you would prefer a sleep in, remove yourself from the waitlist before your head hits the pillow to avoid losing a pass.

  • Yes indeed!! If you happen to follow any of the world's top sports teams from rugby league to golf and everything in-between, you may have seen a glimpse at their behind-the-scenes training. The reason top sports teams are incorporating reformer Pilates into their exercise regime is that it targets a range of different muscle groups & fibres (type I vs type II) than those that they can traditionally train on the field or in the gym.

‍Further, Pilates is often used as part of a team’s pre-habilitation strategy reducing injury risk pre-season and also heavily in all stages of rehabilitation. This is due to its ability to comfortably workout in a range of different planes (reducing the stress on specific structures). Ok ok so maybe you are not a top-level athlete, but Pilates also has place for your everyday man. If you start talking to many of the Queenstown locals, you will find there is a large range of men from tradies to office workers who have reaped the rewards of incorporating Pilates into their exercise routine. Often this is initiated from their physio/osteo etc, however the benefits they receive keeps them returning on the regular. Pilates is simply fantastic for improving not only ‘core strength’ but whole-body strength/flexibility which in turn reduces back pain and tightness.

  • TOILETS - If facing the building toilets are on your right in the main entry of Terrace Junction. Head through the doors and veer to your right.

SHOWERS - Our studio does not provide shower facilities just yet. However, if you have worked up a sweat + feeling particularly daring you could always have a jump in the lake!

STORAGE - A cubie is provided under each reformer for the important things like your shoes, keys, small handbags etc. Please be considerate to others. This is not the place to bring in your child size handbag or other large possessions (unless it is a very cute puppy… then we can talk).
